Whilst I would never class Joseph Mallord William Turner as an “influence”, I could never dispute the beauty of his work…I once sat in front of one of his paintings for an hour and yet left with the feeling that I had not seen everything in that work…his realism combined with - for me - the perfect level of abstraction is simply a joy. …it usually has something to do with these…a while back I joined a covers band with a brief to add some blues to the sets…that didn’t work out, although a couple of the guys were really complimentary about my playing…others wanted to stick to the covers…but I got to play with a brilliant drummer and all round nice guy…since then I’ve “super subbed” and toured with a couple of great blues bands…so it’s all good 😎🎸🙏
